From Proto-Balto-Slavic [Term?], from Proto-Indo-European *h₁sénti, verb form of *h₁ésti.
Cognate with Sanskrit सन्ति (sánti), Ancient Greek εἰσί (eisí), Doric Greek ἐντί (entí), Umbrian sent, Oscan set, Old Irish it, Proto-Germanic *sindi.
