Etymology[edit]
Probably a frequentative (*-le-) derivative of a monosyllabic verb stem (*(w)o-le-);[1][2] see *wo- / *o- for more.[3] Has also sometimes been compared to Proto-Turkic *bōl-, Proto-Mongolic *bol-, or alternatively Proto-Turkic *ol-.
