Reconstruction[edit]

There are many varied Tocharian B words that have the common meaning of "other" and roughly similar form, all appearing to derive in some way from Proto-Indo-European *h₂el-, rather than simply being formations of terms in Tocharian B. This term specifically appears to be the root for alyiyatstse (having otherness), and was reconstructed from this term.
