Relation to OE[edit]

What is the relationship between this article and Old English hliþ? Guus Kroonen lists three related Proto-Germanic terms: *hlainjan- 'to cause to lean', *hlaiwa- 'barrow, funeral mound', *hlinēn- 'to lean'. The first equals Proto-Germanic *hlainijaną. The second is Proto-Germanic *hlaiwą. The third we have as Proto-Germanic *hlināną. Gabbe (talk) 17:16, 21 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
