Is this a reasonable reasonable reconstruction? All descendants point to *tumpt and shouldn't *tumþ become *tũþ at the north sea? Korn [kʰũːɘ̃n] (talk) 20:41, 25 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Korn I don't see any evidence for *tumptiz. The Old Norse occurrences of p are secondary, since it's known that *ft appears as pt sometimes in Norse. Most forms in fact reflect *tumftiz. The appearance of *mþ in the page name is based on the assumption that *mþ regularly becomes *mft in Germanic. I'm not sure if that's correct, though. —Rua (mew) 13:07, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
