@Mnemosientje bewitian is in Köbler's dictionary too. It's a class 2 weak verb, which means it could reflect either a class 2 or a class 3 weak verb in PWG. Unless there is a reason to think there was also a class 2 verb, I think it probably came from this one. —Rua (mew) 10:49, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

I see, I was in doubt also because currently biwitian is listed at bewitan as an alt-form even though the latter is a preterite-present — Mnemosientje (t · c) 12:24, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
