-H- question[edit]

I created the entry based on the reconstruction given for the Sanskrit term. It should be minded that Kroonen reconstructs *bʰeHd- and explains the Indo-Iranian data with the loss of -H- before *-dr- (qouting Lubotsky 1981). I find this explanation plausible, especially given that the ro-extension comes with a 0-grade root. Nonetheless, I'll leave the ultimate resolution of this question for other members to decide. *bataz past participle[edit]

If it was really a past participle of a strong verb *batan-, shouldn't it have been *batanaz, then? And if it was weak, shouldn't there have been some ending featuring a dental stop? I just don't see how this fits into PG grammar. --95.42.25.28 00:25, 30 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
