παύω

The etymology of the entry for the Attic verb παύω (the origin of words such as pause and pose) gives *peh₂w- as its PIE root. Shouldn't παύω then be listed here as a derived term? I'd add it myself, except I don't know the intermediate forms. *péh₂w? Hellenic: *pā́w? Anyone with access to Beekes?  --Lambiam 09:17, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

@Lambiam: Beekes leaves the etymology open for semantic reasons. If we exclude that, the expected PIE form of this verb principally would be Proto-Indo-European *ph₂w-yé-ti (deponent yé-present). Безименен (talk) 13:42, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

Origin of Germ. *fulô, Lat. pullus?

Is there any clearance if Proto-Germanic *fulô (“foal”), Latin pullus (“chick, young of an animal”) belong to this root? Their respecting pages currently give as ancestry the hypothetical *polH- (“young animal”) or *pelH- (“pale, gray”), however, a relation to *peh₂w- is also mentioned? Typically the zero-grade of CEHw- roots yields CuH-, but if this problem can be resolved somehow, it is worth listing the references terms as descendants of *peh₂w- (rather than the aforementioned *pelH-, *polH-).
