This should probably be *Hreh₃d-, yes?

Although, de Vaan lists Latin rōdō as coming from either *Hreh₃d- or *wreh₃d-, where the latter would connect it with Germanic *wrōtaną (to root around, dig up). With regards to the former, Kroonen connects Germanic *rētiz with rōdō, through the meaning of "biting" > "fierce, vicious", mentioning also that Sanskrit रदति (radati) has been connected, hinging on the loss of a laryngeal with a reference to Lubotsky 1981.
