*m-ruːʔ[edit]

@PhanAnh123 Ferlus (2007) seems to have *m-ruːʔ instead of *b-ruːʔ for Proto-Vietic according to SEAlang. Are *m-ruːʔ and *b-ruːʔ considered equivalent, or is *b-ruːʔ a newer reconstruction? RcAlex36 (talk) 14:47, 17 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

For some reason, *b-ruːʔ was glossed as "mountain" and *m-ruːʔ was glossed as "forest". These two reconstructions are for the same etymology and *m-ruːʔ is likely just a ghost reconstructed based on Malieng məɣow⁴, while *b-ruːʔ being the more accurate form, meaning just "mountain".
