Is there any evidence besides English that there is -þ- in this term? Judging by the related Proto-Germanic *fraukô (based on Old Norse frauki?) listed in the other entries, the English data can easily be from *fraukô +‎ *-gô. Bezimenen (talk) 23:46, 15 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Would that not beget an Old English *frēacga instead ? Leasnam (talk) 15:54, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

*froggō[edit]

You reconstruct an alt form *fruggjō and OSX *fruggio to explain GML pugge ? for the u ? Is there's i-umlaut in pugge ? Leasnam (talk) 06:46, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

There doesn't need to be mutation in PGmc to explain this. An alt form of *fruggō suffices. Leasnam (talk) 07:02, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Chiefly because it's an alt explanation for the germination and is a common animal name suffix. --– Sokkjō 23:00, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
