Old Norse

[edit]

@Holodwig21 Old Norse has kapp and the verb keppa. If they are borrowed from West Germanic, they must have been borrowed to take part in the West Norse shift of mp > pp, which w:Old Norse says happened around the 7th century. β€”Rua (mew) 17:05, 15 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Rua I'll add the verb as borrowed directly from Proto-West Germanic. πŒ·πŒ»πŒΏπŒ³πŒ°π…πŒΉπŒ²πƒ πŒ°πŒ»πŒ°π‚πŒ΄πŒΉπŒΊπŒΉπŒ²πŒ²πƒ (talk) 17:27, 15 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
