  1. (Ondo, Àkúrẹ́, Ọwọ, Idanre) a traditional warrior chieftaincy title in various Eastern Yoruba kingdoms (such as Àkúrẹ́, Ìdànrè, Oǹdó and Ọ̀wọ̀) that were under the control or influence of the Benin empire
  2. (by extension) a surname, from the title Sàṣẹ́rẹ́, it is held by descendants of chiefs who held this title
