- (Zeeland) Attested as St. Pieter in 1866. Named after Saint Peter. Allegedly named after a former Spanish fortress, although the hamlet may actually be named after a former church dedicated to Saint Peter.
- (Limburg) First attested as Sanctum Petrum in 1155. Named after Saint Peter. Formerly an independent village.
