Usage notes[edit]

  • In 1961, in the course of destalinization, Stalinstadt was united with neighbouring Fürstenberg and some smaller villages, and the new town was called Eisenhüttenstadt. The area of the planned city has since been called Neustadt, Planstadt, or informally sometimes Stalinstadt.
