Etymology of þakolōn[edit]

The etymology of Old Dutch þakolōn (“to stroke”) is unexplained. Therefore I checked the etymology of the term using the DiaMaNT lexicon, a diachronic semantic lexicon of the Dutch laguage. However, the data base didn't return any result for the query. Now I would like to know where this so-called Old Dutch term comes from.

Here is another useful link for further research: Linking the Dictionary of Old Dutch to A Thesaurus of Old English – A First Exploration 2001:9E8:4607:A86:C4BF:D38C:2042:22B3 14:40, 4 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

That was an error. It's Old Saxon, and spelt thakolōn. I've updated the entry. Leasnam (talk) 17:10, 4 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
