Obsolete form of i[edit]

@Kwamikagami: This sense should not have been removed. i was not originally written with a dot. It is used in some Middle English quotations. J3133 (talk) 07:36, 3 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

That's not <ı> as a letter distinct from 'i' (e.g. ppl would not normally typeset ME text with U+0131), but fair enough. Restored with note that this would not actually be used for such texts. kwami (talk) 18:27, 3 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Kwamikagami: I added a quotation that uses dotless “j”s; however, ȷ has been tagged for speedy deletion. J3133 (talk) 13:02, 8 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm happy to remove the tag if you have something to add. I can also upload an image. We just need to be careful ppl don't think that's what this Unicode character was intended for. kwami (talk) 01:00, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Turns out it was for some obscure transliteration of Khakas. It wouldn't be accepted into Unicode today. kwami (talk) 01:29, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I got it started. Please correct if I made any errors; I just copied the dates from dotless i. kwami (talk) 01:35, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
