Inflection[edit]

According to what I was taught in the Tver Karelian course I attended, the elative should be "šanašta" and the translative "šanakši". I'm not sure about the genitive and partitive plural, they might or might not also be wrong. Mölli-Möllerö (talk) 06:07, 23 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Mölli-Möllerö:: If you have any material on Tver inflection, feel free to help building the infrastructure of Karelian inflection-tables (perhaps we should split these into {{krl-decl-N}}, {{krl-decl-S}} and {{krl-decl-T}}). The only sources I could as of now find focus either on the Cyrillic Karelian, North Karelian, Literary Karelian of the 1930s [which seems to be some kind of South Karelian, but I am hesitant to classify it] or Livvi, I couldn't find any Tver or South Karelian grammar. Considerable <s> ~ <š> variation is present in simply North Karelian (as per Karlova's Vienankarjalan alkeiskuršši (2011)), but I'm not sure how we should handle it (and it has the same problem of -sta vs -šta and -ssa vs -šša); I don't think I'll have the time to focus on both Karelian and Ingrian cleanup at the same time, but should you want to proceed with this I can share the material I found if you need it. Nice! By the way, you might be interested in this discussion and the fact we decided to lemmatise on vienankarjala. Thadh (talk) 12:54, 17 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
