It's a surname. The entry's gloss says "alias of ...". I've just added his birth surname.--Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 09:43, 26 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

link/reference[edit]

@Benwing2: Dammit! Why did you delete this brilliant passage? I've been looking for it for so long in the language corpus… But I do not know how to make a link/reference to a quote if it is not a book. (Чёрт! Зачем вы удалили сей гениальный пассаж? Я его так долго искал в корпусе языка… Но я не знаю, как сослаться на цитату, если это не книга.) Gnosandes (talk) 01:27, 28 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Gnosandes Are you serious? Why is "Stalin was eating children with mustard" a brilliant passage? I would have blocked you for adding this, but you were already blocked by User:Surjection for inserting political statements a month after this statement was added. Benwing2 (talk) 02:02, 28 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2: I'm not serious, it's more like sarcasm. But there is no politics there. Aren't these quotes created to illustrate the word? Moreover, two users did not see anything wrong with this. They edited after me. Gnosandes (talk) 02:15, 28 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Gnosandes You clearly don't understand. Dictionaries are not supposed to be sarcastic, tendentious, witty, clever, or any such things. Benwing2 (talk) 02:33, 28 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2: Okay. Although I was taught at the university that I can use any texts for philology. Gnosandes (talk) 02:43, 28 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2: It's just so strange for me, because I read that there is no censorship in this project. And then they tell me that this is a word do not write... this word is not write, because this is politics. It's terribly strange. Gnosandes (talk) 02:54, 28 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Gnosandes There is a difference between censorship and maintaining proper encyclopedic style. If you don't understand the difference, you shouldn't be contributing here. Dictionaries and encyclopedias are supposed to maintain encyclopedic style, which per w:Wikipedia:Encyclopedic style is supposed to be formal, impersonal and dispassionate. Jokes, sarcasm and political opinions don't fit into this style. Benwing2 (talk) 02:58, 28 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2: Can you help me automatize templates for the Balto-Slavic proto-language? Well... as for example it is done in the Germanic proto-language. However, there will be 2 paradigms there. Gnosandes (talk) 04:15, 28 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Gnosandes You are referring to verbs or adjectives, since nouns already have templates? Can you bring this up in Wiktionary:About Proto-Balto-Slavic? I don't know much about Proto-Balto-Slavic paradigms but I assume there is a lot of uncertainty, since Proto-Slavic alone has a great deal of uncertainty in its reconstructions. You'd need to make sure you get some consensus from other Proto-Balto-Slavic editors about what would go into the paradigms. Benwing2 (talk) 04:22, 28 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
