@Benwing2: Hi. Can you please check your dictionaries for inflections? Plurals are very rare, possibly non-standard, I wonder what normative dictionaries say - so that we use what they say. I modelled on трепло́ (trepló) you edited. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 05:07, 9 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Atitarev Unfortunately it's not in any of the sources that list inflections. Benwing2 (talk) 05:28, 9 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2: OK, I made it simpler. @Guldrelokk? --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 05:30, 9 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Inflection[edit]

@Benwing2: Hi. Some discrepancy between dictionaries again, model on вайло́ (vajló). Gen. pl should be вайлі́в, not вайл (Horokh has an error). I noticed both neuter and masculine adjectives for брехло are used. вайло is marked as M and F but I don't think it can be used as a grammatical feminine but can refer to both men and women. --Anatoli T. @Benwing2 I have searched for some examples to determine the gender, exactly (not what dictionaries say). Not much luck with "брехло́". Dictionaries almost avoid it (it's not that vulgar, IMO) but more luck with "вайло́", which can be used as a model: https://slovnyk.me/dict/newsum/вайло. It should be masculine or neuter (both adjectives are used) (not a feminine), declined as a masculine (gen pl. вайлі́в), can refer to both males and females. --Anatoli T. @Atitarev Thanks, was just looking into words like вайло́, трепло́, брехло́, as well as громи́ло, зубри́ло, чуди́ло, бурми́ло, страши́ло/страши́дло, базі́кало. Was planning on creating any that aren't already created. Slovnyk.ua lists the vocatives of all of them in -е, Horokh lists the vocatives of all of them in -о, mova.info lists vocative ваило́/трепло́/брехло́ but the remainder in -е. Examples of вайло́ in the vocative seem to use вайло́. Horokh also disagrees with Slovnyk.ua and mova.info in the nom pl, Horokh has ва́йла whereas mova.info has вайли́, which is correct? Benwing2 (talk) 09:14, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2: nom pl is вайли́, voc. sg - вайло́. Horokh is wrong here. страши́ло is a different inflection, Horokh is correct there (agrees with mova.info). As for the gender, I think the declension table should stay as is, |g2= should say "n-an". --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 09:26, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Atitarev Thanks. Do you mean that the acc sg of вайло́ should be only вайла́? mova.info lists two declensions, one masc and one neuter, that differ in acc sg. Benwing2 (talk) 09:40, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2: No, what you did is good and can be applied to брехло́. I meant "neuter" gender shouldn't be used in declension and it isn't. Sorry for the confusion. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 09:46, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
