The suffix is probably *-okъ, also found in высокий (vysokij). Per utramque cavernam 14:25, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

The examples given at -кий (-kij) include also широ́кий which has Proto-Slavic *-okъ. Theoretically we could form **ши́ркий (**šírkij) with such a suffix. I am not sure if -о́кий and -кий should be distinguished in Russian, but the former might not be productive in Russian (as distinguished from Proto-Slavic) though and thus perhaps should not assumed at all, but then широ́кий should be kicked from the -кий (-kij) page as not being formed in Russian but before Russian. This poses the question from which century the word одино́кий is. I am now not informed about the productivity of Proto-Slavic *-okъ in Russian and Old Russian from Proto-Slavic.
