Example[edit]

Shouldn't the example: "Слу́шаюсь! — Yes, sir!" be "Слу́шаю-с" ?

Слу́шаюсь is the regular 1st person singular present of слушаться, the reflexive form of слушать, just as in other reflexive verbs, e.g. повинуюсь, поднимаюсь, снимаюсь, etc. There is also слушаю-с, formed by the suffix ; it's better not to put this one as an example, as the expression is archaic. --Vahag 19:03, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
What Vahagn said. Literally, слушаюсь means "I obey", but it is used where we in English would say, yes, sir!. Слушаю-с is an archaic form and is no longer in use. —Stephen (Talk) 09:19, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
