sokun or ghunna?

[edit]

@Sameerhameedy:

Hi. Is ghunna to be used with Persian - by standard or to produce correct (future) transliterations? I mean, not in the phonetic respelling but in the entry headwords, translations, etc.?

In other words, should the Persian (Iranian) full vocalisation be بَنْگِلادِش or بَن٘گلادِش? (banglâdeš or baglâdeš)?

(ghunna is not deleted from links yet, we can add to Module:languages/data/2, like it's for Urdu)

(It must be hard to work on both languages. Hope you're planning to release Persian automated transliteration into the main space.) Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 05:18, 15 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Atitarev no, ghunna is not actually used by Persian. Also noon always assimilates in Persian, unlike Urdu. سَمِیر | Sameer (مشارکت‌هاکتی من گپ بزن) 05:29, 15 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
