I found the Arabic word connected to the Aramaic in Schulthess, whose connection to an apparent proper name in a short Punic inscription seems even more leftfield. I suspect this can be easily refuted by an Iranianist who knows his field, @Calak, although I still added it to troll Irman and kindred glowies. Or even through an Armenian borrowing by @Vahagn Petrosyan, unless this is an overlooked etymology for a word isolated in Iranian. I wot not but added what I had so naught is missed.
