I am not familiar with the procedures in this wiki, therefore I ask for your understanding if I do not follow them perfectly ;-)

هادي is currently a redirect to هدي, but this has not always been the case. The reasoning behind making this redirect was probably the fact that هادي could be described as an alternative spelling of هٰذي in Moroccan Arabic, which is not standardized, but where ذ is at least not usually distinguished in speech from د and where the canonical use of "dagger alif" in the respective Standard Arabic word هذا probably does not require being respected.

In my opinion this redirect is rather misleading: In the page هدي there is no information whatsoever, in which way هادي is connected to any of the given entries. On the other hand, هادي has meanings that go beyond the dialectal variations of هذا in the Maghreb region: At the very least it is the construct state of the noun هاد. Moreover, it appears to be used as a given name (compare for almaany).

I think the best solution would be to create a new entry, but I'm not confident enough to do so myself. If nobody is willing to do that, I'd rather prefer the redirect to be deleted entirely than having the situation we have now.

@Man77: I've created the given name entry. — فين أخاي (تكلم معاي · ما ساهمت) 13:39, 13 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Fenakhay. I added the adjective, taking advantage of a template I found in ماض, but this does not cover all the possible declensions (hādiya is missing, as well as are the construct plural forms), and I am still missing the noun apart from the given name. I'd appreciate any help to get this done. Man77 (talk) 17:13, 13 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
