- @Benwing2: I agree on all of the above Hindi sections. I think these are better covered as usage examples in the entry of the noun/adjective involved. Also, CAT:Hindi phrasal verbs with particle (करना) all of these are also better treated as usage examples IMO, if you think that makes sense I'll get rid of them. —AryamanA (मुझसे बात करें • योगदान) 17:31, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
- @AryamanA Maybe we should discuss whether all of those करना phrases are SOP ... I wonder about some of them e.g. that involve English words; for example, अपलोड करना: can अपलोड be used on its own and if so what does it mean? We don't have an entry for it. Also it wouldn't be clear to me for many of these verbs e.g. सगाई करना whether they're transitive or intransitive. Benwing2 (talk) 18:02, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

- शर्म करना is a better example for the transitive vs. intransitive issue ... it wouldn't be obvious whether this means "be embarrassed" or "embarrass" and if the latter, would it be transitive or would it take the object through a preposition. Benwing2 (talk) 18:06, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Benwing2: Actually yeah, the करना formations have non-obvious meanings. Good point on the English ones, things like डिलीट करना (ḍilīṭ karnā, “to delete”), डिलीट होना (ḍilīṭ honā, “to be deleted”) exist but the first component doesn't really mean anything by itself. I would also argue होना formations are idiomatic; every करना form has a होना intransitive/reflexive version. The rest (including जाना forms) are SOP. —AryamanA (मुझसे बात करें • योगदान)
