@Bhagadatta: initially it just meant a fruit in general and to specify which fruit you had to say something like the name of the tree + pazham like vaazhapazham for banana (vaazha: banana tree) but over time the pazham itself became a word meaning banana AleksiB 1945 (talk) 11:23, 23 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

@AleksiB 1945: Yes, this is why I have put the sense "banana" under the sense fruit, instead of numbering them as 1 and 2; you do that when a meaning is somehow related to a broader meaning. -- Bhagadatta(talk) 14:44, 23 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
