@Wyang Hi. I wonder if the latest changes to the pronunciation and translit modules changed the way the final -ဘ် is treated. Without the respelling parameter it gives /làb/. Does the entry really need a respelling? Should လာဘ် be pronounced /laʔ/ by default? Perhaps we could have a case when there is a final /b/ or /p/ pronounced in some loanwords (?), but I'm not sure they happen in Burmese. Cases like this are probably rare enough that using the respelling is good enough. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 23:07, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

Yes, a respelling is needed in this case. The recent changes made interpretation of the combination "single consonant + virama" possible, so လာဘ် is now လာ ဘ် (since the rhyme ာဘ် is not valid), rather than a single syllable which would have thrown an error with the old code.
