@Gubazes, πόλις (pólis) doesn't exist in Pontic. I would separate პოლი (p̌oli) and მპოლი (mp̌oli) from the other forms and derive from Byzantine Greek Πόλη (Pólē) or Pontic Greek Πόλη (Póli), which like Greek Πόλη (Póli) refer to Constantinople. By the way, according to BLS, პოლი (p̌oli) / მპოლი (mp̌oli) also refers to Batum, which is proof it simply meant the City. --Vahag (talk) 20:47, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
