In dialects: ὕμμες, ὑμέες. Coming h- from *s- (or *w-), and [y] from [u], we would have something like *sumes / summes for the pronun ye. Now, surprisingly enough, ye in Hittite is sum(m)ēs!!--Manfariel (talk) 16:55, 14 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Very interesting. It would be wonderful to be able to verify this and list the Hittite form in the etymology section. Wonder if it has a Wiktionary entry. I think there is also a similar form in Sanskrit: second person accusative plural yuṣmān. Perhaps I'll add that tomorrow. — Eru·tuon 11:05, 2 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
