イ(i)[edit]

@Poketalker: I think there is no need of writting /i/ as イ(i). First, readers of en.wikt here can understand what /i/ is without イ. Second, in fact most Japanese /i/ sound is not written with イ, so representing all /i/ with イ is counterintuitive. ᾨδή (talk) 03:45, 30 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

@ᾨδή: なるほど。How about the formatting in the other conjugation articles (below Related terms)? Any suggestions or additons welcome. ~ POKéTalker21:32, 3 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Poketalker: There may be 2 issues.
  • It is a bit questionable to say 五段 植わる (mordern) is evolved from 下二段 植う (classical). When looking into the phonemes, it seems an affix *-ar- is attached to the stem. In this case the conjugation would usually depend on *-ar- instead of the stem, so it is hard to say 植う to 植わる is an instance of conjugation change. ᾨδή (talk) 11:56, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • User:Eirikr expressed his concern about too many overly detailed encyclopedia stuffs in Wiktionary. I don't know if some of your recently added content may have some trouble with this or not. But if there should be a problem, I would suggest make more use of appendices, e.g Appendix:Japanese glossary, Appendix:Hiragana script. ᾨδή (talk) 11:56, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
