@Eirikr:

  1. Actually, the |alt= parameter of {{ja-kanjitab}} is not necessary on non-lemma entries, because it is a property of words instead of spellings and duplicating them for every spelling adds burden to maintenance (compare the former approach to interwiki links), and because {{ja-see}} is able to copy that information from the lemma entry and display it in a dictionary-like format: ほしもの【干物・干し物・乾物・乾し物】.
    • By the way, I wonder if ほしもの【干(し)物・乾(し)物】 is better (or worse?).
  2. The layout problem could be solved by slightly increasing the margin-bottom of {{ja-see}} if it persists. --Dine2016 (talk) 03:29, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Dine2016, thanks for having a look. For the layout, it's a bit longer, but I think ほしもの【干物・干し物・乾物・乾し物】 is clearer and less likely to confuse users. ほしもの【干(し)物・乾(し)物】 is visually harder to parse, and could be confusing for anyone who doesn't understand the notation (and even I still struggle with it some after all these years).
Thanks too for the idea about the layout. I totally understand and agree with your thoughts on content reusability and on the importance of splitting data from presentation, hence my edit comment about "layout hack".  :) My thought is that this entry is currently intended as a model of how we might want the final render to look, and that we would clean out the manual <div>s from the wikicode once the templates don't overlap awkwardly like this. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 17:00, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
