"informal letter"

@The dog2 Dictionaries typically 私函 as a private letter, which is not necessarily informal. Do you have any usage examples for the sense "informal letter"? RcAlex36 (talk) 08:33, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

@RcAlex36: That was just the sense we used in school. 私函 refers to a letter you would send to your friends or relatives in your personal capacity, in contrast to 公函 which is a letter you send to some company or government department or vice versa, or a letter between two companies. @RcAlex36, Justinrleung:I guess. I was using this terminology because these two types of letters were called 公函 and 私函 in Chinese class, but in English class the terms used were "formal letter" and "informal letter", even though they were referring to pretty much the same thing.
