What language[edit]

A Google search shows that this is probably a Japanese expression (not Chinese). Tohru should probably check this.

On second thought, now I'm not so sure, because the second character is simplified (not kanji). Badagnani 16:20, 24 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

lists this as a Japanese word. Gerard Foley 16:26, 24 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

I wonder why, then, Japanese would use a Chinese simplified character as a kanji (?) Badagnani 16:32, 24 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

I don't know much about the historical kanji/hanzi simplification, but it seems that quite a few characters had been simplified in the same manner within each language. Anyway, the word 鳳声 is so antiquated and ceremonious that I've never seen it in real-life situations... --Tohru 17:18, 24 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
