@Suzukaze-c: thank you, that's certainly more helpful than the current etym. That said, as noted over at Talk:어떠하다, that entry also needs some more information added: while the latter half is pretty clearly 하다 (hada, “to do”), the etym there doesn't explain this, and there is no further detail available for the first half 어떠 (eotteo)... ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │^{Tala við mig} 15:59, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
