Although the romanisation of the word of Peking into Beijing is widely accepted, Peking duck is a dish name and a noun, and thus the romanisation of the term Peking does not affect the term “Peking duck”.There is also no quotation of such a word. Crumbledtgms (talk) 04:26, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
- Cited. I believe all four cites are specifically referring to the dish known as Peking duck, but it's difficult for me to be absolutely sure, since I'm unfamiliar with the dish.
- Our definition at Peking duck doesn't mention that the duck is fattened by force-feeding before slaughter, but this seems to be an essential part of the dish, at least as it is traditionally prepared.
Peking duck on WikipediaWikipedia mentions the fattening of the ducks offhand part way down the article as if it's obvious or not worthy of special note. This, that and the other (talk) 04:56, 13 November 2023 (UTC) - RFV passed Jberkel 12:28, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
