Latin agnomina

[edit]

We don't have a category for this separate from cognomina but, at least per Wikipedia, this wasn't actually borne by anyone else. Like Unimanus, it was just a personal epithet of a single person based on the lower-case adjective. The medieval figure didn't have a Roman name, so again it wasn't a case of a cognomen, just of a guy who happened to be one-eyed, applied as a personal epithet. This might need a separate category (even though all cognomina presumably started as descriptive agnomina) or it might just need to be removed as an instance of the use of the base term. — LlywelynII 06:57, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
