Dhimmicrat[edit]

@Metaknowledge, Dhimmicrat is at least used on Google Groups. Is Groups low‐hanging fruit or something? --Romanophile (contributions) 00:58, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Good catch; anon contribution + poor formatting + Super Tuesday II + no BGC hits made me understandably suspicious, but I'll undo myself now. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 01:02, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
No big deal. I’m not sure why they felt the need to insult you, though, but I’m assuming that you are unoffended regardless. --Romanophile (contributions) 01:08, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Adjectival Form[edit]

The dictionary currently says, "Democrat (not comparable) (US politics, proscribed, derogatory, offensive) Of or belonging to the Democratic Party in the United States." (Emphasis added.) So, which is it? Democrat or Democratic?

Usually you'd say Democratic. There's a discussion about this on Wikipedia too, which gives more details as to *why* it is the way it is, but our usage note here summarizes it well. I think the only thing I'd add is that it can be an adverb too, as in the set phrase vote Democrat. Soap 10:53, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Actually I'd rather characterize that as a noun, though I dont know how to describe it. I'll be adding use examples soon. Soap 10:52, 2 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
