Hasn't German proper noun got gender? Adjectives take which gender?―219.173.119.31 12:45, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Some proper nouns do have genders. However most don't. The Netherlands do have one. It's always Die Niederlande. Germany doesn't. It's always Deutschland.
Duden for example explicitly states "nur mit Artikel" and "Plural" - always with an article and plural - for the Netherlands. Fido 13:31, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)
