/ɵ/ in English pronunciation key

I'm sure it's valid for somebody, but /ɵ/ as a phoneme, as far as I'm aware, is not widespread across Englishes, so it would be good if someone could tag which dialect of English this belongs to. The pronunciations generally seem a bit odd to me. I've always heard it (in the UK) with the primary stress on the first syllable, and having taken a course on Old Testament theology back in the day I've heard it reasonably frequently. —Al-Muqanna المقنع (talk) 20:42, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

Fixed by @-sche now—I'm surprised none of these have first-syllable stress (even the OED's long list of variant pronunciations doesn't), but I'll leave it alone! —Al-Muqanna المقنع (talk)

It wouldn't surprise me if it existed; Collins too has a long list of pronunciations with stress in various places, and although they too have no primary stress (only sometimes secondary stress) on the first syllable, like a lot of foreign names it can probably be found stressed on any syllable. A few speakers at Youglish do use first syllable stress (one also weirdly drops the /h/). - -sche (discuss) 22:12, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
