Ethernet and ethernet[edit]

I was wondering, is there some peculiar difference in meanings between (deprecated template usage) Ethernet and (deprecated template usage) ethernet, or the latter one is just a usual misspelling? --Ivan Štambuk 01:19, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

no-one who works (or has worked) with it a lot bothers capitalizing the word, even though it is/was a trademark, it has been entirely genericized. The WP article which consistently capitalizes it looks weird. It is as if someone wrote "She asked me for a Kleenex" in the middle of a novel. Robert Ullmann 01:25, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
