Etymology[edit]

Obv. the fragro etym that was at the Wikipedia article on the genus was wrong but our own Latin fragum entry doesn't derive this word directly within Latin, but claims it was used via Spanish. I assume that it's just a construction to clarify strawberry plants & co. as opposed to true strawberry foodstuffs and Linnaeus didn't know Spanish from Chinese but, if that's accurate, someone should fix the placement of the word in the fragum entry.  — LlywelynII 11:21, 27 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
