For some reason, this version shows up with the } and | un-Fraktur-ified (i.e., they still show up as } and |, which is why I initially removed the paragraph), whereas this version didn't (which is why I added it back, not realising that the underlying text and not just the displayed text differed). Given that the point of the example is to show Fraktur script, but the script will only display correct if one has a specific font and script support installed, might it be wiser to use only images? - -sche (discuss) 16:11, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

You can see the text after downloading and installing the font as suggested, and then you can see how Fraktur works and how to produce a Fraktur text on your computer. You can’t get that from an image. —Stephen ^(Talk) 17:51, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

Why are we still relying on non-standard fonts, when they have been obsoleted by proper Unicode Fraktur fonts? The text i| es mögli<, daß wir die typi\<e is broken, since the web page declares the character encoding as UTF-8.

Try UnifrakturMaguntia or UnifrakturCook.

Yes, I would definitely prefer that we use a text + font that encoded ſt as ſt (rather than |), etc. I think we just need to update the text in this entry and the font set in common.css to do that? - -sche (discuss) 18:47, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

I have updated the page with correct Unicode text, and updated the styles for .Latf in MediaWiki:Common.css. It should look right on reload, and make sense regardless of the fonts you have installed. —Michael Z. 2013-09-08 02:31 z
