Not sure about the part where stomata is further split into Greek stoma and Latin -ata. Greek word "stomata" as such is just plain plural of stoma.

There was recently a discussion of this on WordReference, and this particular word was mentioned. Is it simply a plural like Carnivora or does it contain a Latin adjectival suffix like Tubulidentata? There are examples like Coelenterata where the Latin suffix has been added to Greek elements. It seems undecidable. --Hiztegilari (talk) 11:35, 14 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
