Hmm. I guess that that would be debatable. It's not really an English word to start with. Spanish and Portuguese both use the accent to indicate stress. Without this the natural tendency would be to stress the middle syllable. I obviously favour the accented form, but would certainly retain the redirect. Accents on the letter "i" in particular tend not to be noticed. Eclecticology 20:36 May 27, 2003 (UTC)

In Portuguese, "guarani" doesn't have accent. The "i" indicates that the final syllable is stressed. -- Leoadec 7 July 2005 19:00 (UTC)
