Adjective sense[edit]

I don't know the formatting for the article body, but here are the requisite 3 attestations for adjective sense of the term: [1], [2] and [3]. @Geographyinitiative Could you please show me how to do it since not all of them are books? The dog2 (talk) 22:19, 23 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@The dog2 Hey, I actually don't know what sentences you want quoted. Could you copy-paste the sentences you want quoted onto this talk page? If you can do that, then I will do the full citation on the entry's page. I don't know which sentences use the adjective meaning you want. Glad to help! --Geographyinitiative (talk) 00:14, 24 June 2021 (UTC) (modified)Reply
@Geographyinitiative: Sure. For source 1: "It seems Henghua people have all the while been very proud." and ""I think youngsters are getting interested in nostalgia, and heritage food," said Mr Ho, who remembers watching Henghua puppet shows outside the restaurant when it was still located in Sungei Road.". For source 2: "Originally from Henan, the Henghua people migrated to Putian, part of the Fujian province after the civil war before coming to Malaysia." and for source 3: " Road development greatly motivated the Henghua people to expand their control of the transport business, with which no other dialect group was believed to be familiar." Etymology[edit]

@Justinrleung I don't know if Pu-xian Min is a possible origin since I don't speak it, but this word does look like it could come from the Hokkien pronunciation of 興化. Would it be safe to say that it was borrowed from Hokkien? The dog2 (talk) 20:09, 9 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
