@Geographyinitiative, Justinrleung, RcAlex36: It could just as well come from Hokkien. The Hokkien pronunciation is Hok-chhiaⁿ. It is definitely from one of the Min dialects, but I'm not sure if we can be absolutely sure which one it comes from. The dog2 (talk) 20:26, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
