About the verb forms:

  • If we wanted to be prescriptivist, then ICQd and ICQing are the correct forms. There's no apostrophe since there is no contraction and no possession.
  • If we wanted to be descriptivist, then ICQ-ing seems as common as ICQ'ing except when both forms are needed people seem to use the apostrophe on both rather than mismatch.
