Anyone considered the similarity of "Jovis" and "JHWH" ("Jachwe")?

I believe so, but the word in Old Latin and in related Italic languages starts with "d", and it fits with the Proto-Indo-European term, which has been reconstructed on the basis of terms in a number of other branches of Indo-European, not just Italic. It's an interesting coincidence, but it doesn't work when you look at the details. Chuck Entz (talk) 18:47, 22 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thx for the reply. Well, my amateuristic view is not always true. I could discuss back and say: Single letters change often. But then we would end up by replacing 4 letters of "mama" and getting "beer". In God We Trrust (talk) In God We Trrust
