Declension

[edit]

@Benwing2, @Solvyn: Hi. Yes, this one is right as well. Should such surnames default to soft declensions? Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 22:28, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Solvyn, Atitarev Thanks. Under what conditions would these surnames default to soft? Do you mean surnames in -us? This one seems to be derived from a name in -ůš with a soft consonant, but I'm not sure about other surnames in -us. Benwing2 (talk) 22:40, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2: Thanks. Probably not. It declines as Kalhous (soft) but not as Hus (hard). It seems the Czech Wiktionary has many good surname declensions. (I checked a few) and some have quotations in inflected forms, e.g. "koncert vynikajícího klavíristy Davida Kalhouse". Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 22:47, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
